Wine tasting is a new trend that is catching on fast. As people grow fonder of wine, they crave for the best. To each person the best wine, according to their personal taste, is different. However, there are the different grades of wine. From cheap wine to the very expensive bottles with the fanciest names the taste of each type is unique in its own way. While some may argue that expensive wines are simply over rated and not worth their price, others say that it is those wines that are genuinely wine. These debates have lead to a larger number of people wanting to taste the different kinds of wines themselves and make their own decision. Doing this could be rather expensive as you would have to get all sorts of wines. In addition, most of the wine would go to waste as there is only so much wine that can be tasted by one person.
The perfect solution to this is to throw a home wine tasting party. Throwing a party sounds expensive. However, if you plan it out right, a home wine tasting party doesn?t have to be expensive. The first step of the home wine tasting party would be to create a guest list of friends who would be interested in wine tasting. People who have no interest in wine tasting will not contribute to the fun. The next most important step is to create a list of wines to have at the home wine tasting party. Cheap wines, as well as a few bottles of expensive wines, should be included in the list. Once the list is finalized, it should be divided equally between the guests and each one of them should be asked to bring a bottle to the home wine tasting party.
Having wine alone at the home wine tasting party is not enough. Wine has to be accompanied by certain kinds of foods like olives, cheeses, cold chicken or turkey and even caviar. It is important to have a balance between the different kinds of foods to match the wines. Each wine should be categorized by its grade and placed with a food that would blend with the taste of the wine.
The home wine tasting party should begin by tasting a wine before tasting any of the food. After tasting each wine, it is important that the guests have a general discussion about it to keep things going. After each taste, the food placed with the wine should be tasted. This routine of alternatively tasting the wine and the food should continue until all guests have tasted each wine.
